Samenvatting
Dit is een voorpublicatie van hoofdstuk 6 uit Praktijkboek geïntegreerde cognitieve gedragstherapie (complete gegevens zie hierna). De auteurs behandelen de diagnose, etiologie en behandeling van de obsessieve-compulsieve stoornis, en laten zien hoe dwanggedachten en bijbehorende controlerituelen volgens een geprotocolleerd cognitief-gedragstherapeutisch model effectief kunnen worden aangepakt.
In de tekst wordt een aantal termen gebruikt die wellicht niet zonder meer helder zijn voor wie de eerste hoofdstukken van dat boek nog niet heeft gelezen. We vertrouwen erop dat dit het begrijpen van de tekst niet in de weg staat.

Summary
The prepublication of this chapter from the Dutch treatment manual Praktijkboek geïntegreerde cognitieve gedragstherapie. Protocollaire behandelingen op maat treats diagnosis, ethiology and protocolized treatment of the obsessive compulsive disorder. The authors show how intrusive thoughts and compulsive rituals can effectively be treated using a protocolized cognitive-behavioural therapeutic model.
Some of the terminology used may not be instantly clear to readers who haven’t read the preceding chapters of the book. We trust that this will not affect the understanding of the text negatively.
