Samenvatting

Over de aangewezen behandeling van psychogene pseudo-epileptische aanvallen (P.P.E.A.), een subtype van de conversiestoornis, bestaat nog geen consensus. In deze gevalsbeschrijving wordt een kortdurende ambulante behandeling van P.P.E.A.-klachten beschreven. Tijdens de behandeling is gebruikgemaakt van hypnose en stressmanagement. Het belang van het presenteren van een behandelplan en psycho-educatie wordt in dit artikel uitgelicht. De behandeling was succesvol. De patiënt was bij ontslag klachtenvrij.

Summary

Thus far, there is no agreement on the most effective treatment of psychogenic pseudo-epileptic attacks (P.P.E.A.), a subtype of conversion disorder. In this case description, a short outpatient treatment of these symptoms is described. Components of treatment were hypnosis and stress-management techniques. In this article, the importance of presenting a treatment plan and psycho-education is emphasized. The treatment was successful. At the end of treatment the patient was asymptomatic.
